Friday Sept. 11. will be opening day for Cornucopia Farm’s General Admission activities. Wagon rides will take visitors to the u-pick pumpkin patch and long-time favorites like the 6-acre corn maze, the soybean maze, the petting farm, giant slides, cow train, rubber duck races, tumbling tiles, putt-putt, barnyard basketball, and over 3 acres of zinnias and sunflowers will be back again this year! Not to mention the new addition for the season — the Bee Barn with an observational beehive!
The Farm Market will also be opening with the signature homemade goodies like the famous Pumpkin Roll, Pumpkin Bread, Caramel Apple Delight, and Fudge available! Jams and jellies, fall decorations, mums, children’s books, and pre-picked pumpkins and squash are also available for visitors to shop.
Cornucopia Café will be open on weekends, serving farm-raised hamburgers, grilled cheese on homemade sourdough, nachos, and more. Another fan favorite are the Apple Cinnamon donuts that visitors can watch being made through the viewing window!
More than just a tourist attraction, visitors to Cornucopia will get to see, experience, and make memories on a working farm. Owners Kevin and Linda Baird have been growing pumpkins for 34 years and have loved providing a place for family-fun, entertainment, and farm education. Farming has always been a family affair at Cornucopia Farm, and the Baird’s two sons, Michael and Jared (along with their wives Valerie and Kayla, and grandchildren) have also joined the operation with plans to carry on the traditions and legacy.
Located just off highway 56 between Scottsburg and Salem, Ind. It’s the perfect weekend activity. No admission needed to come shop pre-picked pumpkins or the Farm Market. All other activities require admission, which is $13/person (two and under are free).
